Eurovision - not quite karoke, not quite Idol...

Yes, I went to a Eurovision party last weekend, held at a friends pub a little out of Leeds. It was an experience...
Some things about Eurovision:
* I firmly believe it is to remind people who is part of Europe. There were some impressive entries from countries like Herzegovina, which I honestly didnt even know existed before.
* Its not a good sign when the country you drew on your sweepstake entry gets laughed at by others (hey, what is wrong with Albania??)
* Its better when the second one you draw is the favourite(Greece) and you later to go on to win the £24 prize! (muhwahaha)
* Some entries are going to be a bit strange. Like Hungary's entry, which was a cross between Riverdance and Kraftwerk.
* By the end of the night, you're really not going to care who won (well, at least if you were drinking the amount of alcohol I was)
* Dont miss your last train home, its an expensive cab fare from Ilkley to Leeds (ok, not really directly related to Eurovision, but I only discovered this on the Eurovision night)
At least I know who Terry Wogan is now...
