Is it home time already?
Well, not really. Just found out today that I got accepted into a whizzy uni course in the UK (apparently the intelligence of the average Aussie is equal to their elite level, or at least thats the best explanation I have for them letting me into some post-grad study, but I digress).
So off again to the UK in a couple of weeks, not to return for two years, minimum. Bit scary I reckon, but I'm excited too. Its the perfect excuse to see more of the UK, get into its culture a bit more, and to be close at hand to amazing cities like Paris, Rome and so on.
Still, it kinda sucks that this kind of post-grad study isnt really available here in Oz. Without going into details, it's a fairly specific area of study, whereas the closest thing they have here is a lot more general. It's going to be hard work, but it will (hopefully) keep my interest for the duration.
On another note, I heard rumours that the girls off my Football team in the UK (that's soccer for everyone else), got stood up at a recent match. They were waiting for another team to show to make up the numbers to play, but were left out in the cold when said team were a no-show due to the fact they were still AT THE POLICE STATION, trying to sort out the DRUNK AND DISORDERLY charges from the night before.
And this is the WOMENS team.
Ye Gods....

Sounds like you might be in for a fair amount of culture shock :)
